Nakamura Reveals That 'Strong Style' Doesn't Mean What You Might Think
Shinsuke Nakamura is known in WWE as The King Of Strong Style, however he recently revealed that doesn't mean what most might think.
The way WWE recruit new Superstars and prepare them for life under their banner has changed dramatically over the past five to ten years. Rather than having a handful of developmental territories, they created NXT and that brand in itself has become massive. Some of the best wrestlers in the world have passed through NXT because almost everybody wants to wrestle there right now.
Despite the litany of tremendous acquisitions that Triple H has made at NXT, one of the biggest is undoubtedly Shinsuke Nakamura. The Japanese star was synonymous with New Japan Pro Wrestling after competing there for fourteen years and holding the company's World Title three times. As well as that pedigree, Nakamura has brought true Japanese strong style along with him to WWE.
Strong style basically means hard hitting kicks and pro wrestling that looks incredibly real, right? Well not exactly. Nakamura revealed on WWE's new series WWE Chronicle that strong style is so much more than that. 'Strong Style' is a kind of philosophy, expression of emotion', Nakamura explained'. 'I express my emotion, like, what I think, what I feel by wrestling using real technique'.

So far in WWE it's probably fair to say that we haven't seen the absolute best from Nakamura yet. If you've seen his work in New Japan then you know he has another gear or two to shift up in to stateside. Hopefully we could be on the cusp of seeing that next level of Nakamura though. The King Of Strong Style turned heel at WrestleMania two weeks ago and the little we have seen of that side of him so far has been tremendous.

If we are about to see the very best of Shinsuke Nakamura then we may finally see him capture the WWE Championship. He has tried and failed against Jinder Mahal and AJ Styles but he was a clean cut babyface on both of those occasions. Now that Nakamura is a bad guy we may be about to see that strong style in the way he describes it really come to the forefront of his in-ring work.
